Game 17 - Butler vs. Mississippi State 2003

Beware the 5-12 game.  Our opening game of the second day features 12th seeded Butler taking on the 5th seed Mississippi State Bulldogs,  Butler had first made waves four years prior when they went to overtime against Florida in the first round, and then left their mark two years later, upsetting Wake Forest in the first round.  This game was a back and forth knockdown affair, neither team able to score consistently enough to open a large lead.  Butler's Brandon Miller hit a runner with six seconds remaining, to push Butler into Round 2.
