Game 9 - Michigan State vs. Old Dominion 2005
Tom Izzo - coached teams don't show up unprepared. That a first round matchup with Old Dominion would qualify for this project is a complete testament to the Monarchs. Old Dominion showed up with a chip on their shoulder, as well as motivation, as Vermont's famous upset of Syracuse occurred in the same building earlier in the day. Michigan State came out flat and the Monarchs took advantage, building a 42-37 halftime lead. The Spartans regrouped at halftime and were able to power on, including sinking six consecutive free throws to ice it late.
