Game 32 - Gonzaga vs. Virginia 2001

Why not one more 5/12 game to cap off our first round?  I'm sure a lot of folks would expect other games from both these schools, the feeling here is that this is the most well-played first round game by both schools in the last 30 years.  So, as much as I would love to include UMBC beating the Cavs as a 16 seed, logistics, and overall aesthetics state this is the game.

So to give background before we get to the full game film, the Zags were every bit still the plucky underdog back in 2001.  Despite a run to the Elite 8 and the Tournament's third round in the preceding two years, the Bulldogs were still searching for national respect.  This game is so good that I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.  Dan Dickau and Gonzaga take on Roger Mason and Virginia here:
